SkinCareiQ was created by a husband-and-wife team. The foundation of every flag, every contraindication, and every specialty-specific database comes from the expertise of a licensed master esthetician with a deep passion for client education and ingredient literacy. Her daily work in the treatment room — fielding ingredient questions, screening client routines, and preventing adverse reactions — is the direct source of what SkinCareiQ flags and why.
The specialty databases beyond skincare were shaped with guidance from working professionals: a licensed tattoo artist informed the Tattoo & PMU contraindication logic; licensed massage therapists shaped the carrier oil and essential oil safety flags; licensed cosmetologists, hair stylists, and barbers provided real-world insight into the hair color and smoothing treatment risks that show up in the Hair & Color vertical.

The database is organized by beauty specialty — each vertical has its own flag set calibrated to real professional safety literature.
Text ingredient lists can be pasted directly. Photo label scanning is available on Starter and Professional plans, using AI to extract ingredients from product label images. Results include plain-English explanations of why each flagged ingredient matters in the selected professional context.
