1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SkinCareIQ ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

SkinCareIQ is a professional reference and ingredient research tool designed to help beauty, wellness, and aesthetic professionals quickly identify flagged ingredients, potential contraindications, and ingredient concerns within their specialty. The Service is intended solely as an informational and educational reference tool.

3. Not Medical or Professional Advice

THE SERVICE DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL, LEGAL, COSMETIC, OR ANY OTHER PROFESSIONAL ADVICE. All information provided by SkinCareIQ — including ingredient flags, safety ratings, concern categories, and any AI-generated content — is for general reference and informational purposes only. It does not constitute and should not be relied upon as medical advice, diagnosis, treatment recommendations, legal guidance, or professional consultation of any kind.

Always consult a licensed and qualified professional (such as a dermatologist, physician, cosmetic chemist, or other relevant specialist) before making any decisions about product use, client care, formulations, or treatments.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulations.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the underlying ingredient database at scale.
  • Resell or redistribute the Service or its data without written permission.

6. Subscription and Billing

Certain features of the Service require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed on a recurring monthly basis. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods unless required by applicable law. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable advance notice.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and data within SkinCareIQ — including but not limited to the ingredient database, flag logic, and user interface — are the property of SkinCareIQ and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose.

8. Accuracy of Information

We strive to maintain accurate and up-to-date ingredient information, but we make no warranties or representations regarding the completeness, accuracy, reliability, or suitability of any information provided by the Service. Ingredient safety science evolves constantly, and the Service may not reflect the most current research or regulatory guidance.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SKINCAREIQ AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE — INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO RELIANCE ON ANY INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE SERVICE, CLIENT OUTCOMES, OR BUSINESS DECISIONS MADE BASED ON THE SERVICE.

Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
